REGENCY ROOM RESTORATION CAMPAIGN

At long last, we are pleased to announce the beginning of our first bedroom restoration at the Pabst Mansion. Once belonging to the charming and vivacious Emma Pabst, the room will be returned to its original splendor during the Regency Room Restoration Campaign. Designed with Regency and Empire elements, the room exudes wonderful proportions and elegance, which will be brought back to life as the room is restored.

Amazing details have already been uncovered and are waiting for the artisans touch. The magnificent Lincrusta ceiling will be repaired, hand-painted four shades of green and highlighted in gold. The original wall covering will be replicated and again hung in the large panels that frame the room. A custom rug, elaborate silk draperies and bedspread are to be replicated based on the original 1902 photographs. The bathroom will also undergo restoration as its marble is  polished, tiles repaired and a period bathtubinstalled.

When the restoration of the Regency Room is complete, it will join the other beautifully restored rooms of the Pabst Mansion. We hope that you are as excited as we are about participating in this, one of the finest interior restoration projects in Milwaukee in recent history. Please consider a generous gift to the Regency Room Restoration Campaign as we continue our work to make the Pabst Mansion one of America‚s finest house museums.

As a new volunteer you will be asked to attend a general orientation and training sessions which will help match your skills and interests to one of the following areas:

Tour Guide (Docent) - Our tour guides are our link to the public. As a tour guide, you will provide the visitor with a history of the Mansion and the Pabst family.

Visitor Services (Admissions/Gift shop) - Visitor service volunteers are our visitor’s first and last impression of the Mansion. Responsibilities for this position include greeting visitors, admissions, answering phones and assisting with sales in the gift shop.

Programming - There are a variety of ways to volunteer "behind-the-scenes." Volunteers are needed to help with special events, education, exhibits, outreach, mailings and fund raising.

Volunteering at the Pabst Mansion is an enriching and rewarding experience. In order to show our appreciation we provide the following benefits:
